| dc.description.abstract | Aquest treball té com a finalitat corroborar que la decisió que es va prendre al referèndum del Brexit al 2016 està intrínsecament vinculada a l’arribada de immigrants provinents de la UE al Regne Unit. Més aviat, el que aquí s’analitzarà és com la premsa i la política van modelar l’opinió que la població tenia dels immigrants, presentant-los de manera negativa per tal de generar una situació de pànic moral. Aquesta hostilitat infundada envers als immigrants va afavorir l’auge de l’euroescepticisme i de les actituds antisistema, les quals es van traduir, eventualment, en l’exitosa campanya del Brexit. Tot i que hi ha molts elements geogràfics, econòmics i històrics que expliquen perquè va celebrar-se aquest referèndum, la immigració és, sens dubte, un dels més importants. La major part de la bibliografia coincideix en que la política migratòria fou l’eix vertebrador sobre el que estructurà aquest procés polític, ja que aquesta actuà com a element dinamitzador i catalitzador del vot probrexit. | ca_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | The goal of this final project Is to corroborate that the result of the 2016 Brexit referendum is intrinsically linked to the arrival of immigrants from the EU to the UK. We’ll be paying special attention to the way in which mass media and politics shape public opinion towards immigrant, portraying them in a negative wat in order to generate a situation of moral panic. This unfounded hostility towards immigrants favoured the rise of Euroscepticism and an anti-establishmen attitudes, which eventually translated into the Brexit campaign. Even though there are many geographical, economic and historic reasons behind this referendum, immigration is, undoubtedly, a core one. Most of the bibliography agrees with the idea that migratory policy was the backbone upon which this political process was structured, since it acted as the main catalyser of pro-Brexit vote. | ca_ES |
